Families may apply for the number of hours attendance that they would like but availability may be limited by high demand at times. It is our ambition to offer children in their pre-school year 15 hours per week and younger children at least 6 hours per week. For those that want more, additional hours may be available and will be allocated in accordance with our policy.
The number of children allowed to attend the pre-school at each session is limited by the Local Education Authority. Demand increases as the academic year progresses. As we commit to offer a minimum number of hours to every child eligible to attend, we may need to limit the number of hours available, to that minimum, in the final term. In such cases 2 calendar months notice will be provided and parents asked to indicate which hours are most needed.
New Applicants
Children usually start at Cottontails at the beginning of the term in which they turn three. Applications for places can be made up to a year in advance using our application form and enclosing a non-refundable application fee.
Applications will be acknowledged within 14 days of receipt and held on file. Offers of places and hours of attendance will be provided at least 6 weeks in advance of the start of term. Places will need to be accepted in writing, in accordance with the allocations timetable.
Existing Members
Allocations for the Spring and Summer terms have been made, although Summer term allocations are indicative at this stage. Parents will be asked to advise of any changes necessary for the summer term before the half-term break. Details of how and when to do this will follow.
