The benefits of inter-generational care to both children and older people have been widely researched and publicised recently. Benefits to children include improved self esteem, confidence and social interaction, learning from a generation who have a vast amount of life experience, learning opportunities about historical events and ageing, developing empathy and improved reading and communication skills. |
Links to articles from The Pre-school Learning Alliance and Nursery World are below and are a worthwhile read to find out more about inter-generational care.

There has also been the channel 4 series 'Old people's home for 4 years olds.' If you didn't watch it, I highly recommend it. It is still available to view on All4.
