Niaijah Honeycutt

Ms. Aijah serves as Director in Training at Cottontails Preschool and brings over 10 years of experience in childcare and early childhood education. She holds a CDA in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s degree in Psychology, with extensive experience working with children from young toddlers through school age. She is also currently completing additional education credits in Early Childhood Education as she works toward becoming a qualified Director.

She is passionate about being a positive role model for both children and educators and believes that open communication and strong partnerships between families and the school are essential to each child’s growth and success. As she continues developing her leadership skills, she is dedicated to creating a positive, supportive, and nurturing environment for children, families, and staff. Outside of school, Ms. Aijah enjoys spending quality time with her son, painting, and listening to music.

Kenzie Perry

Ms. Kenzie is our Lead Teacher and is passionate about helping young children learn, grow, and explore through age-appropriate curriculum and play. She brings warmth and enthusiasm to the classroom every day. She is currently working toward earning her Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential to expand her knowledge and professional skills in early childhood education.

Outside of school, she enjoys traveling, road trips, diamond painting, music, and spending time with family and friends.

April Yang

Ms. April brings a rich multicultural perspective to Cottontails, having lived in both China and Japan before making North Carolina her home. She is also a Master’s graduate in Language Learning, bringing advanced knowledge and experience in language development and multicultural education.

Her diverse background and personal experience as a mother deeply inform her approach to early childhood education. She is passionate about introducing children to different cultures and languages while creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences.

Outside of school, she enjoys cooking, walking in local parks, and exploring new cultures through food and stories.

Mia Komono

Ms. Mia Komono is a caring and dedicated educator who is passionate about helping young children feel safe, loved, and supported as they learn and grow. She brings valuable experience as a nanny, supporting children of different ages, as well as a background in behavioral and developmental support. She has also served as a youth counselor at church camps, leading engaging activities, games, and group experiences. As a mother herself, she brings patience, compassion, and an understanding of each child's individual needs to the classroom. She enjoys creating a positive, nurturing environment where every child feels valued, builds confidence, and is encouraged to explore and reach their full potential.

Tenecia Henry

Ms. Tenecia Henry is a passionate and dedicated educator with over 10 years of experience working with children. She enjoys helping young learners grow, build confidence, and reach their full potential through engaging activities and meaningful learning experiences. As a mother of three, she brings patience, compassion, and a nurturing approach to her classroom. She is committed to creating a safe, loving, and welcoming environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to learn, explore, and succeed.
